A new Bear.

I have just finished something I love to show you, in between Christmas creations!
This is Sophie (my hubby chose her name), I was inspired by Autumn colors to use remnants of tartan fabrics and old leather to make a sweet old looking teddy.

I gave this old and charming look to her face shaving and removing fur in the areas where antique bears show signs of wear... I always have problems when it is necessary to do that to a beautiful, new and expensive piece of mohair... but afterwards I am completely happy with the result!
She wears a fabulous English antique collar and a necklace with rusty bells... jingle jingle!

Her paw/foot pads are made of old leather, and thanks to Paula's tutorial, she has the most perfect foot pads I have ever made! Thank you again, Paula!

...Bye bye! Enjoy your weekend!
Monica.

  2. Oh Monica!
Sophie is absolutely beautiful right down to her little leather paws. I love the fabric combination that you chose for her. Her collar is so exquisite and even her little bell necklace is outstanding. It will give her a gingle to her step. I love the way you shaved her fur to give her that worn look. It antiqued her beautifully. The bow on her little head gave her that childlike look that we all love so much.

Thank you for sharing Monica. She is truly exquisite. I love her.

Please stop by and say hi. I would so love to have you visit.

    Country hugs, Sherry
