Mothering Sunday.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums in the UK!
Hope you'll be pampered today :)

Violets are my favorite early Spring flowers... can't resist their vivid color and intense scent... and cannot pass vintage violet-themed pretties by.

The grass is getting greener and greener... woo hoo!!

Have a grand day!

  2. Your violets are so lovely! We have some that grow in our yard, but they haven't made their appearance yet ~ still not Springy enough yet over here I guess. They are my mother's birth flower! =)

Thanks for stopping by. Wished I could send you some of the squirrels - way to many here and they are so destructive.

  8. I wish I had known you love violets. I had some violet china pieces (that used to belong to my mother in law) n a wreath. I gave it to my daughter in law & she totally re-did the whole thing & now it's really ugly. You would have loved it. DARN. If she ever tires of it I will get the china back & send it to you. My violets are blooming & so beautiful. I should get some photos for you. HUG Kim for me. You too. Charlene

  11. Monica, I was very sleepy last night. When I read in your blog that it was "Mother's Day" I sat back and thought I couldn't have been asleep that long. Ha! I learn something new everyday. I didn't know they had a different mothers day. Love your nests. Maybe a birdie will come and make use of it. Hugs, Sharon

  13. Hello dear Monica, your photos as always are gorgeous of the violets and the nests. You are lucky to be able to find the nests, they are very beautiful. Yes, I think you would suit a cottage in the English countryside, but I think it would need to be a big one to hold your beautiful collections

Have a good week dear friend

  14. Hello Monica, thank you for stopping by my blog today and for taking the time to say hello. A Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mums over there across the pond! Ours here in the US in in May. But your spring comes a lot sooner than ours does here in Pennsylvania.
    Blessings,
    Diane

  16. What a beautiful Mother's Day. I hope that mine is as nice in May! The nests are just wonderful.
Monica, I have an off-topic question for you...I love your pictures with tutorials etc. linked to them (on the left column of your blog). Could you tell me how to do it or direct me to a blog that could? Does that make sense? ha ha It might be way beyond me but I would like to try!

  17. I also love violets, Monica !
The nests are so beautiful, it's amazing how birds can make them. Last year I found one,
the bird had also used some little flowers from my hydrangea 'Annabelle'. It was gorgeous.
    Have a nice week,
    Sylvia
