A Severe Addiction!

Hello and Happy Pink Saturday everyone! Another week's over...
First of all, many thanks for all your well wishes!! I feel better today and I'm trying to stay at the desk in the studio between one nap and another, so I can achieve something even with a BIG foot :(I will try to get back to you asap. I've been extremely tired over the past two days and found it difficult to stay at the computer.
This 'forced relax' allows me to read more than usual- I must admit I am a magazine-aholic as many of you are! I surely have TONS of them!

As I cannot get rid of ANY of them, I had to think up ways to store all that paper... My very favorite place to store them are vintage trunks.

I read and re-read them in rotation- what it's amazing is that they always seem NEW to me!! This is great when times are tight and I can't buy new ones... Many of these mags are very old, but I can't part with them.

These are some of my favorites: I chose covers with PINK for today's post!;)

And all Stampington publications...

Please drop by our sweet hostess Beverly to see what the other Pinkies are sharing today!
Have a fantastic weekend,
Monica x.

  1. I, too, am a magazine-aholic! I had every issue of 14 years worth of Country Living. I was running out of room, so I had to part with them. I ended up selling them on eBay. For quite a nice price too. I've started my next 14 yrs collection now. LOL

  5. Hi Monica,
I love magazines too and nor can I part with them. It's almost like an obsession with me. I'm certain that I will read them again one day to discover something new. The gardening and design ones especially, I hold dear.
I hope you're feeling better soon. I am not participating in Pink Saturday myself because I have been 'under the weather' most of the week. Hope you have a great weekend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  12. I have the same problem with my magazines, Monica, glad I'm not the only one.
I also like reading Country Living and I think the French 'Campagne D├ęcoration' is an interesting magazine too.
    Beautiful roses !
Glad you're feeling a little better,

  13. I think that if you open most of the drawers in my home that do not house clothing....you will find magazines...my husband cannot understand my addiction (obsession) and would love more than anything to just toss them out...over my dead body!!
Take it easy and enjoy your weekend xOxO Nerina

  14. I'm with you on the magazines - I do try to cull my down though (just don't have the storage room as it's only a 1-bed flat). I do keep certain important articles though (rip out and file, then toss the rest I don't want). It's not as bad as it sounds, as I keep loads for collage. It tends to be the pages and pages of adverts that have to go. Keeping the numbers down means I can sneak in more new ones.

I'm glad you're feeling better - and putting your time to such good use!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  16. Oh Now i feel so much better about my magazine obsession! I have tons and tons. They are my escape from reality picture books and all I have to do is look at the pictures. My only problem is with hubby you see he wants to take them all to the recycling center. Oh Well hasn't happened yet. Those roses are gorgeous. Have a great weekend Meg

  19. Hi Monica, Sorry about your accident! Glad your foot isn't broken. Take care. This is a great chance to catch up on reading. I am glad to see that I am not the only magazine hoarder.
My kids think it's wierd! Most people read a magazine and then pass it along. I have every one of Mary Englebriet's Home Companion! I love Somerset Mags and have a ton of those. I
too keep going back revisiting them over and over looking for something I might have missed.
Anyway, hope your foot gets well soon.
Am inviting you to stop by and see me soon!
    Smiles and Blessings,
    Nancy

  22. Me too, I love my mags. Must have all of them, but have you notice how expensive they are getting. I mean really $10 and I just saw a new one I haven't seen before for $13 crazy!
Keep resting your foot, my foot still hurts and swells, it just takes time.
    Big hugs,
    Elizabeth

  26. Monica, I am sorry for being so late to visit, but happy belated Pink Saturday. I am having a hard time keeping up with my life lately.

I can see we share the love of many of the same magazines, and I always have a stack close by to read and reread.

I hope your foot is feeling much better. My husband hit is toe on the corner of the bed last week, and he said it is feeling better now. It was definitely broken - and looked yucky.

I hope your father is recovering well. Yes, fathers are very special. I miss mine so much.
