My 2011 Peonies.

... I do love peonies! So when we sold our property, I decided they had to come with us! As they weren't part of the house sale, I could transplant them in big vases, so that we could easily (!) move them to our future destination.
Being passionate about gardening, plants and flowers, I know well that peonies don't like at all to be moved. But as I had grown them with much love and care (they were tiny bushes when I planted them in my garden six years ago), and they had become quite big in size and generous in blooming, I wanted to try anyway.
I pampered and spoke to them everyday!LOL So you can imagine my glorious smile when I spotted the first flower!!!
I cut some to better capture their beauty, together with my zest and happiness, and offer them here to you too...

They bloomed marvellously at the very beginning of April (a little bit early for our standards), when we had a long heat wave!

Now they are this way... equally stunning...

Wishing you a sunny weekend!
Linking to Beverly's Pink Saturday, thank you for visiting.

  3. Peonies are stunning flowers. I have one little plant and I hope it survives. The deer like it, but now we have a fence and I'm hoping that the peony will grow and flourish.

Your photos are gorgeous. Have a wonderful weekend.

  8. I adore peonies, too....I transplanted some, not knowing they did not like to move, and wonder of wonders they bloomed just beautifully, last year. See what love can do?

It has been so chilly here that all my peonies are up maybe 4". I am so looking forward to their blooms and so hoping our bad squirrels will not bite off their buds....
    Happy Pink Saturday!

  18. The peonies are glorious! I love the way you've captured them with your stellar photography. My favorite is the one of the arrangement on the green chair. I had to smile when I read that you took them with you when you moved. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've moved my garden three times! Have a wonderful weekend! Terri

  19. Very pretty! My mom loves peeonies and for years we had the white, light, and dark pink ones in the garden. One of them died last year, but we cannot remember which, so we are waiting for them to bloom so we know for sure which color to replace. Your photographs of your garden are just wonderful. Happy Pink Saturday.

  26. Hello:

I'm new to your blog and so enjoying it! I'm here via Pink Saturdays. Your peonies are gorgeous. I too love peonies. I only have one and always say I need to add more. Maybe I'll ask for one for Mother's Day.

I'd love to have you join my weekly party, Seasonal Sundays. Your peony post would fit right in!

  27. Peonies have always been one of my favorite flowers. I remember my folks had peonies growing by the side of the house - so beautiful, but the ants - ugh! Too hot for these beauties here in SW FL - sorry to say.

    Happy PS!
