Lavender Bundles.

When it's time to harvest lavender, I always make as many bundles as possible, to give or keep... I love its color and intoxicating fragrance, and I like to preserve them for the long winter ahead.

My latest creation is a burlap and lavender bundle... I think they go together as tea and cake!;)

Just as simple as this- arrange a bundle of lavender in your hands, put onto a doubled piece of burlap, and tie with raffia or natural twine. Add a vintage buckle or brooch, if you want.

Let the scent and memories of Summer last...
You can make these as favors for a garden party, Summer wedding or a gift for someone you love. Or simply, to keep for yourself!
Happy harvest!

  8. Hi friend, My lavender is just starting to bloom. Everything is so late this year. The zinnias are just now forming buds. Monica we have had nothing but rain. I am hoping things warm up here soon or I shall lose my mind.
I love what you have done with your lavender. Simple elegance.

  11. Harvest? huh! I've had a lousy lavender 'harvest' of about 12 stems! LOL!
One of my sister's neighbours has the most beautiful mound of lavender and it's really quite blue too. I'm working on her to let me have some...sending vibes at least three times daily LOL! Do you think it might work?
Your Burlap wrap is simply beautiful!

  17. So beautiful! Everyone is posting about harvesting lavender now, something which is not available here. I did buy a container of dried lavender at Pottery Barn so I could make some sachets but there's no guarantee there will be anymore to buy if I go back. :/ Your little bundles are sweet! Have a terrific Tuesday. Tammy

I've been crazy busy at work, but I am taking the week off next week. My birthday is next week, and I always try to take that week away from work.

  24. Your parcel has finally found it's way to me! It was visiting another neighbor while they were out of town tending a sick family member. I got a call last week and then our world turned upside down so I wasn't able to let you know it had finally made it to me. Which, now, I feel the gift is even more valuable to me because it's helping me get through an even more emotional story than before. God works in mysterious ways. I feel it wasn't meant to get to me before now when I REALLY need it. Bless you and thank you Monica. Your kindness is immeasurable. xoxo Aleta

  27. I had hoped to make fresh Lavender bundles from the Harvest in my own Herb Garden... alas, when the temps hit 116 they bit the dust. Ah well, I still have my dried imported Lavender to give me the essence of a French Countryside.
