I know you DO! :))
It takes a creative soul to understand...
Have you ever witnessed funny reactions from guests or family members visiting your home, when they see your creative decorations, spaces or stuff?
I have ;) Shocked expressions indeed... someone even 'tried' to understand... but obviously thought I was completely crazy!!
Thank goodness for Blogland and you all, kindred spirits! What a creative girl would do without you???LOL. By the way, Johanna looks very happy in her festive attire!

So beautiful..
Yes, I get it! It is wonderful to share in/on blogland! I have had that reaction at home too! Thank goodness for Kindred Spirits!

I totally understand!! :) My bff GETS it, but otherwise I know people think I have totally lost my mind. We live out in the boonies and people are still rooted in country style decor. My home is soooooo different than others and I love it anyways because it is a true reflection of who I am. {not mass produced from a home party} I am also VERY THANKFUL for like minded people in blogland.
Merry Christmas and blessings~

YES, YES, YES!!!!! This has happened to me.....alot:) lol Some people just don't get it. Some have even asked me if I am an artist like that would be a great excuse for the way I decorate. Some have guessed about my 'childhood' Some have called me eccentric. lol I think our homes should reflect us, don't you. I just have to laugh. I'm me and you are you. As long as our homes are happy homes what different does it make if dance to our own song. That's one of the things that makes life so interesting:)I wish you a very Blessed Chrismas. Stay true to yourself:)

Merry Christmas, Monica.
I get it. Definitely. Some people look sideways at my decorating but that's okay - I'm happy with it, and so is my husband.
Dear Monica,
Johanna looks lovely in her festive finery ~ love the red and white. Look forward to hearing your news, dear friend.
Warmest wishes for a merry Christmas and a new year filled with happy days.
Hugs
Carolyn
Oh how wonderful to know I'm not the only one that feels like my blog friends are the only ones that get me! I get the same looks from my family when they enter my studio and see Emma wearing wings and chippy, rusty things all over. To them it's all a little bit bizarre but it's ok with me. Johanna looks stunning in her Christmas lovelies.
Merry Christmas dear friend,
Abby

Oh my goodness... I have heard that so many times about my vintage-inspired crafts! And my children get a little spooked out over all the antique photographs I collect. They don't understand why on earth I would find something so special about photos of people I don't even know and who've passed away generations ago! lol
Beautiful mannequin... and beautifully decorated! Have a joyous Christmas!
Monica, have a wonderful Holiday with your family. Hugs to you,
Meredith
Monica,
Our eyes are trained to like that to which we have been exposed throughout life, our brains programmed to respond to familiarity. Your Art is unique and beautiful yet timeless. I am not sure if your friends and family view your work in the 3-D aspect alone or as your blogland followers do in 2-D, since it is through the camera lens that we have the privilege to experience it. I realize that some might say; “what would it matter?”, but each one has its own unique design. Each time I get to experience your work, I view it in a multi-layered respect:
(1)-Medium used, not just the photography used to capture the work but the subject itself and the materials used to create it. The sparks of inspiration must necessarily come from within the artist and the impulse to make something new generally comes from a direct personal involvement with the materials. I look at the assemblages separate from the photography and then together as a whole.
(2)-Art Elements; line, value, color, shape, size, direction and texture. These elements are common to nearly every artistic creation and the basic ingredients in comprising any work of art.
(3) Has the artist thoughtfully managed or manipulated the basic principles of design, which include: emphasis, balance, contrast, variety, harmony, unity, proportion, rhythm/pattern and movement. This will determine if the piece will capture the viewer’s attention for a length of time necessary to SEE ALL of the details in the work. If, of course, their eyes and brains will allow the processing of the unfamiliar.
You make great use of these principles to achieve unity in your work. The harmonious integration of the chosen materials into an effective whole speaks to your ability to represent how you perceive your place in the world. Your obligation is not only to yourself, but to your work by getting it “out there” for others to view and enjoy. Not everyone will get it but the experience is most fascinating in what they miss and are missing out on. If they didn’t get it then you have captured their attention by questioning it. After all, Art is subjective. Take Care and have a most Blessed Holiday!
Hi Monica, Yes, I get it and yes, I know those reactions. But hey, I have rather people call me crazy than boring :-). I'm very happy about the wonderful blogfriends who get me though. Your decoration is beautiful!
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!
Christmas hugs and warmest wishes,
Julia
