Joyful Simplicities #4

Don't you just love second- hand book shops? There's something so special in them, especially those quaint little shops in the Cotswolds I love so much. The overall atmosphere, all the knowledge on the old shelves, the smell of the yellowed pages, the forgotten treasures ready to be discovered... I'd spend hours in there!

What about you? Do you stop if you bump into one?

  3. Wonderful! I see it's called Holly Cottage! When we visited Florence in '06 we fell in love with a gorgeous Italian book store. I went gaga over the painted floors and the stacked books... just took it all in a smiled from ear to ear.
    Have a great day!

  7. It's a dream the Secondhand Book Shop of your post, for me!... but every book shop is a paradise, because you cannot open a book without learning something.
    Golden dreams!

  9. I love second hand book stores. Especially when they offer other antiques or vintage items as well. It's so much fun to spend a few hours browsing.

  11. I adore old bookshops! We have some lovely old bookstores here... one of my favorites is in an old church, another in an old tiny cottage. ;)

  12. Oh yes! I have a great love for books anyway. We had to downsize and I don't have a library anymore and I am mourning the loss of ALL my books. I kept a few of my very favorite and choosing wasn't easy. If I bump into second-hand book store, I still stop! :)Hard habit (that I don't want) to break.
