Joyful Simplicities.

In the depths of Winter, it may be difficult to find joy in the dark and gloomy, cold days and barren outdoors. Along my personal discovery journey, I've found there are many simple things that make me happy in this season.
Among them:
- My handmade organizer and planner, warm and pretty.
- Having tea in a mug I like. Hot and spicy, please (I've discovered I love scented, Christmas blends in the cold months, not only in December).
- My wrist warmers (actually leg warmers, but I use them for my hands and wrists).
- A pencil, to write and write, and plan and jot down whatever I might want to try in the new year ahead.
- A couple of home magazines (Country Living and Country Homes and Interiors are my favorites).
- Daydreaming, and gathering those dreams in a journal not to forget.

And oh yes!
- The rare sunbeams entering through the windows, while outside is freezing!

Linking to Sunlit Sunday :)

Do you have mid Winter favorites? What makes you happy in January?

January is a quiet month loving the simpler things in life: reading a Penelope Lively's book, devouring a Romantic Shabby magazine, cooking muffin in the form of a star to light up the evening, after a hard working and studying day...I've forgotten:
reading your Post:)
Good evening

I love your list and your handmade planner is beautiful!
I like to read the british decorating magazines too, and my favorite tea is Hot Cinnamon Spice by Harney and Sons, it's really tasty. I also love cozy slippers and scarves to keep warm.

I love what makes you happy sweetie I couldn't agree more! I would add to the list cuddling up on the sofa with my dogs and hubby watching a film with the fire roaring :) have a wonderfully happy weekend sweetie!

That sounds so nice and cozy to me. The only thing missing is a purring kitty in your lap. I would love winter, if I could enjoy most of it from indoors.

I'm still waiting for winter. We've had a total of about a week of cool weather, but of course those were scattered here and there. (We don't experience seasons here).

I've been lounging around on Pinterest for ideas and loving it.

My knitting relaxes me all year, but in winter it is so sweet to create in the dull grey days. Im hoping for bright snow this weekend.

A hot cup of coffee with Bailey's Irish Creamer and whipped cream, snuggled up under my favorite afgan with a good book.

I enjoy curling up with a good book, baking something, making a soup or stew, walking in the snow . . . the list could go on.

Monica, if you would like to, I'm inviting you to link this lovely post to my "Sunlit Sunday" meme that is up today.

A hot and spicy tea sounds real good right now. We are still in a deep freeze in the west.

Loved reading about your simple pleasures. A cup of tea, a cup of coffee, a book, a fire in the fireplace, lunch with a friend, a worship song at church...there are many, and for these I am grateful.

....finding a patch of sunshine slanting across the sofa, and curling up into it...sipping my morning coffee from a pre-heated mug....seeing the sun break out from behind a winter cloud.....I could go on and on!
