I know that Spring has definitely arrived when I start seeing violets blooming...
They are everywhere right now, and I just can't help making posies for my Mom each time I go out and bump into them!
As you can imagine, I'm also tremendously inspired to record their beauty on paper... Oh, I wish I could paint their fragrance too!
Enjoy this page from my sketchbook! Hope it'll make you smile.
I've been in love with violets since I can remember. My Grandma made use of a delicious violet perfume she gave me before passing away. I cherish that bottle. That divine scent has been of great comfort to me during tough, sad days... like an angelic message from my Grandma telling me not to fear, that I was loved and guided along the path.
You know I am a white and blue girl at heart... even if, as an artist, I do love each and every color!
And I do love tea (it must be my English soul ;))...
... white flowers and checked tableclothes!
... And spring flowers...
These shots make me happy because I used some of the white flowers my hubby gave me for my birthday, my Granny's vintage tea set and my Mom's tablecloth for the styling. To me, joy is in the littlest of things!
Happy White Wednesday to you all, and thanks to Kathleen for hosting this blog party each week. You can find the most inspiring whites there, so pop by for a visit if you have the chance.
I recently became a year older, and I had such a wonderful day!
I always love to celebrate my birthday... I feel especially loved and pampered on this day! My beloved ones use to treat me to the most beautiful things and extra attentions... and all that I do has that special 'birthday' feel that makes my child's heart soar.
I cut a little posy from the balcony (those are my hellebores I transplanted from my garden before moving), and I bought strawberries to prepare a yummy birthday cake.
Aren't they the perfect spring combo?
Then I treated myself to a birthday present, a handful of antique French postcards... yummy!
My family made me feel like a princess! The most beautiful white flowers from my DH were delivered to my doorstep (we're living apart due to space reasons, hoping to be able to find our nest soon!), and my Mom surprised me with a white azalea and two bunches of yellow tulips!
My hubby came here and we had croissant and cappuccino together... we did some fun window shopping... bought a couple of my favorite magazines and happily chatted together... then I spent the rest of 'my' day painting.
My heart is full. I am grateful for my life, for what I have. Now. Even if it's not as perfect as I would like it to be, it is abundant beyond every possible expectations!
I'm finally enjoying a well- deserved rest at my parents' home, painting, strolling Kim, writing, and... sleeping! Oh I so needed that ;) My DH and I have decided to wait for temperatures to rise before moving again towards our final destination... will share with you one step at a time ;)
I found these snowdrops in the woods, and thought to assemble a tussie mussie just for you!
Even if these March days can still bring a chill, it is lovely to stay outside a bit more and enjoy the first warmer days and new flowers after the cold, long winter!
Hope you're enjoying some good weather where you are!
Will be back with a new painting that celebrates the Season! Can't wait to show you.
