FROM MY SKETCHBOOK JOURNAL: WATERCOLOR IRISES

⎨From my sketchbook journal: watercolor irises⎬

Sharing with you some of my daily sketches in my sketchbook journal!

In this case, I painted our irises... they were really stunning this year, with lots and lots of flowers.

I wrote:

" It has been raining heavily for hours, but our irises are still beautiful. I love their deep purple petals against the payne's gray sky...

I really love these very spontaneous paintings, where I move the brush freely, led by my heart

I used to do a lot of this type of paintings, and now I feel it's just what I need right now.
More freedom, more spontaneity, more surprises ♡"

A very interesting fact about this sketch is that I had started to draw something different, and I didn't like it. So I simply sketched the irises over the previous drawing, and boldly went over it with my waterbrush loaded with purple... and this is the result!

The lesson is: don't fear to make mistakes! Be confident in your abilities, and just PLAY!!

Our genius is endless, and you can always find creative ways to correct them.
