THE SWEET PEA SAGA! (PART 2)

⎨The sweet pea saga! (part 2)⎬

(April, 5th, 2025)

And here we are!!!!!
Sooo crazy excited for my sweet pea seedlings are ready to be transplanted!

The weather has been so warm that the seeds germinated quickly indoors (I just put them near the window), and they were soon eager for more space to grow!

I didn't want them to elongate too much in those small toilet paper rolls, I tested with one, and saw that the roots were already outside of the roll, so I decided to plant them outside at this stage.

The weather was sunny and very warm already. The seedlings were starting to grow too fast and be leggy, so I wanted them to be in the final pot and slow down a bit! :)

The roots were already coming out from the bottom of the toilet paper roll... they looked healthy and strong!

I pinched the apex in all the shoots before planting, to keep my work tidy and organized (and be sure I pinched them all).

To do so, I just pinched off the growing tip above the second pair of leaves using my fingernail.

Then I planted them in the pot I had already prepared more than a month before, with pelleted manure.

I built a teepee with 5 bamboo stakes (to be stable enough) and twine to allow the seedlings to climb.

And that's all for today! I will keep you posted!

(... to be continued)

Monica xoxo
