These roses are in deed beautiful. My grandmother used to dry rose petals and put them in her underwear drawer where she kept her undies and handkerchiefs (in her days ladies always had handkerchiefs in their purses or their pockets) the rose petals kept them all smelling lovely. So dried rose petals to me are very reminiscent of a gentler time.

They're certainly reminders of a bygone era where life was very different from now, and maybe that's why many of us love them so much, I think! Just yesterday I was browsing a few old books in my collection about country living and country home interiors, and in all of them there are pictures of dried roses and other flowers. So beautiful, those pictures nourish my soul!
