⎨Sketching peonies: another plein air sketching date!⎬

Today I'm sharing another plein air sketching date. Yes, I know- I'm on a roll!!! LOL
A couple weeks ago, I went to the rose garden again, but this time to paint peonies!
There's a large bed full of gorgeous peonies in a corner of the garden, that I wanted to paint in my sketchbook. I love my sketchbook practice, especially when it's watercolor journaling!
Watercolor has always been my favorite mediums of all! So romantic, portable, easy to set up and clean... and the paintings have such a light and spontaneity that is hard to replicate with other mediums. I really think they were made for sketchbooks and journaling... two of my favorite simple pleasures in this life! :)
